I got this by going on google maps and contacting civil engineering companies until one offered me a job. Took me about a week to get one.

The exposure to the work done in a field I wasn't sure about pursuing.

I wish I would've applied sooner.

Advice

I would highly recommend getting familiar with the programs used for the job. It makes you stand out when interviewing and more efficient once you start working.

What I liked

The environment at my work place was phenomenal, everyone treated each other like family and they were all really good about putting me on projects that were ongoing. I gained so much experience using so many different software applications like Civil3D and StormCAD.

What I wish was different

Advice

Always ask "What more can I do?" the more you work on things, the more you learn and the more you become efficient at these types of tasks.
