Strength and Conditioning Coach Intern

“I was able to see the programming process first hand and even develop a preseason program for the softball team. When deciding excercises for softball, we watched different videos of the game and specific workouts other people use. While watching the videos we would stop and actually do the exercise to see if it targets an area specifc to the sport and then we would start to create our own exercise based on the exercises we watched. It was great! It was very specific from the types of exercises, what phase of their exercise (eccentric, hybrid, endurance, etc.) so that changed the types of exercises or how they were done, how many reps and sets. We also had to take into account, for sports in their game season, when a game was and when they have lift before and after the game. Dependent on who they played also affected the difficulty of the workout following the game. I was able to assist during their actual lift times to correct their form, provide knowledge behind the exericses and build a relationship with the athletes. ”

Athletic Trainer Intern

“The atmosphere is great! It is a light, joking environment where everyone laughs and gets along but they get serious when they need to. There are other interns that work there as well as work-study students so it is a comfortable environment. Plus athletes are always coming and going from the training room. They were very flexible when it came to my classes and my availability. Whenever I wanted to adjust a time they were very able to work with me. ”
