SurveyMonkey

Talent Development Intern

June - August 2020 • San Mateo, CA

What I liked

I like that they still offered us opportunities to build community and engage with the company as a whole despite being virtual. Also, the company is uniquely positioned as a well known name, but relatively small and still growing.

What I wish was different

My only complaint is that I wish I would have been in person.

Advice

Take advantage of all opportunities available to you - there are just as many when virtual as when in person. Don't let the format deter you.

Machine Learning Engineer Intern

May - August 2019 • San Mateo, CA

What I liked

SurveyMonkey is an amazing company to work for. There are a ton of kind, supportive, passionate individuals there. The work is interesting, and the perks and benefits provided by the company are really cool-- free breakfast and lunch daily is pretty awesome!

What I wish was different

I only wish that the transition to new technology happened faster during my internship. Other than that, I was very happy.

Advice

I have to offer more than just one. Ask a lot of questions! Maintain good relationships with people. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, but communicate when you do to people that are dependent on you as soon as possible. Set personal goals for what you want to achieve, and work hard to reach them!

Sales Operations Analyst

June - August 2019 • San Mateo, CA

What I liked

I absolutely loved the company and workers. They truly care about the employees and made sure the interns had an experience that yielded personal growth and understanding of the work force.

What I wish was different

Maybe a longer internship and more help with finding housing. The bay area is incredibly expensive and with a college student's budget, housing can be hard if not impossible to find. The internship was nine weeks, and I loved it so much, it could have been longer!

Advice

After this internship, I would strongly recommend working for this company. Amazing and unique experience - hard to find elsewhere. Also would recommend getting any kind of internship as it is a huge help in understanding your interests and career goals!
