Sutherland

Customer Care Professional

July - August 2019 • Houston, TX

What I liked

I enjoyed the office setting at Sutherland. I felt like an adult at work. Usually I work as a cashier and perform those duties along with customer service. At Sutherland, I had multiple supervisors, my own cubicle, access to a gym, assigned parking, name tag, and great co-workers.

What I wish was different

I would not change or do anything different. My experience this summer in Houston has prepared me for life after college. I learned that as an adult no one is holding your hand or guiding you every step of the way. An adult needs to be strong and self-sufficient not weak or unfocused. Paying attention to everything is important in everything we will do in life. At college and after college, at our jobs now and in our future careers.

Advice

Ask questions. Ask them even if the person your asking seems annoyed by questions. It is necessary to know what is wrong and right at any job. I know for myself I wanted to not be wrong or make a mistake. More importantly asking questions is for your customers. When a customer emails or calls in they want instant gratification not for us to place them on long holds or hang up the phone. Remember to ask questions and memorize the answers given to keep you from asking the same question repeatedly.

Customer Service Representative

June - August 2018 • Houston, TX

What I liked

The managers are mostly nice.

What I wish was different

They don't really seem to care for their employees, while I was there they endangered their employees by having them in the building.

Advice

It's hard to be a customer service representative.
