About Swedish Medical Group

Since our beginnings in 1910, Swedish has been the region's standard-bearer for the highest-quality health care at the best value.

Swedish is the largest nonprofit health care provider in the greater Seattle area with five hospital campuses: First Hill, Cherry Hill, Ballard, Edmonds and Issaquah. We also have ambulatory care centers in Redmond and Mill Creek, and a network of more than 100 primary care and specialty clinics throughout the greater Puget Sound area.

Swedish’s innovative care has made it a regional referral center for leading-edge procedures such as robotic-assisted surgery and personalized treatment in cardiovascular care, cancer care, neuroscience, orthopedics, high-risk obstetrics, pediatric specialties, organ transplantation and clinical research.

Swedish is affiliated with Providence Health & Services, a Catholic, not-for-profit organization founded by the Sisters of Providence in 1856. Reviews

Research Consultant

June 2018 Seattle, WA
“I was given a lot of autonomy in planning my research and shadowing. I spent about 12 hours/day, 5 days/week for 3 weeks in the operating room watching various procedures in both cardiac and vascular surgery. On the research side of things, I had the opportunity to conduct semi-independent work, writing case reports for the cardiac surgeon I had been shadowing. I produced three case studies. I also singlehandedly abstracted the large majority of data for an ongoing study regarding pulmonary embolism treatment.”

“I have been helping out in the general surgery unit at Swedish Issaquah Campus. I work mainly at the front desk, answering call lights, paging CNAs and nurses, taking calls from other units, doing paperwork, delivering medicine to nurses, and helping with non-medical task such as bringing ice packs to patients.”
