What I liked

I liked the freedom of working on the sales floor and being able to style women's clothing in ways I thought were best suited to our customers. I also liked how they were able to work around my schedule because I had another job as well and was taking online summer courses, and went on a few vacations as well. Management was very helpful in terms of finding ways to work around the time-off that I needed and providing me with a suitable schedule. Furthermore, management is very nice and not intimidating to talk to at all. Managers I've had in the past have been not easy people to talk to and I always was stressed about communicating any concerns and questions I had, but not at T.J. Maxx; everyone is welcoming and professional.

What I wish was different

I wish the pay was higher, but that's why I'm getting a college degree so I can earn a higher wage.

Advice

I would definitely recommend T.J. Maxx if you're interested in retail, fashion, or working in any of the departments we have in the store such as beauty, accessories, clothing, home décor and furniture, fitness, and some food and kitchen products. It's also a great way to get customer service experience; you learn how to deal with difficult customers, you learn patience, how to talk to managers about a customer concern, and you learn overall communication skills that are vital to any job or field you choose to work in.
