Tastemaker Conference

Digital Marketing Intern

September 2022 - May 2023 • Sacramento, CA

What I liked

I liked that I was always given great feedback and was able to be creative, and listened to. My internship supervisor always provided me with the best support possible and helped me tremendously with tasks and skills learned that I will carry on outside of this internship!

What I wish was different

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask for help or to get started! Questions I had were always answered, and the feedback I was given helped me with present and future tasks. I was also very nervous when starting because this was my first internship, but I became comfortable with my tasks and felt confident completing them efficiently.

Digital Marketing Intern

September - December 2022 • Sacramento, CA

What I liked

I liked that this internship was a learning process for me to excel in, not a job in which I was expected to be perfect right from the jump. I also liked how understanding the Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager, Amanda, was. She always gave me a step-by-step video on how to do certain tasks and was always willing to answer questions and help me out! I genuinely learned a lot and had a fun time doing so, I'm so glad this was my first internship.

What I wish was different

Nothing, everything was honestly great.

Advice

Don't be afraid and retain as much information as you can! This was my first internship and I was extremely nervous to start. I was scared that I wouldn't be good at the job or get confused, but I was set up to be successful and treat it as a learning experience. I quickly learned I had nothing to be nervous about and always had helpful guidance. It's normal to be nervous when starting something new, but everything will be okay!

What I liked

The internship onboarding process was very organized and direct. All the skills you needed to complete assignments were given to you in video tutorials.

Advice

A piece of advice I would give is to not be hesitant to ask for help when completing tasks.

Social Media and Digital Marketing Intern

February 2022 • Sacramento, CA

What I liked

I really like that the team cares about my development and making sure that I am able to learn and grow from my assigned tasks. I love my manager because of how clear/concise her directions are for tasks and she always goes out of her way to make Loom videos when I am confused on certain things. She is easy to talk to so I feel comfortable asking for help and she understands that I am here to learn. I have had the opportunity to dip my toes in various aspects of digital marketing and social media, being able to get a feel for what I like/dislike.
