The Chemours Company

Business Analyst Intern

June - August 2022 • Wilmington, DE

What I liked

Chemours has a very positive and supportive work culture. Everyone I interacted with at the company was very helpful and kind. I also enjoyed the data work I did as a part of my internship. I had to learn a new program for my role and I had access to many great resources to support my progress. I also enjoyed the hybrid style of the internship. I went into the Wilmington office building once a week, so I appreciated getting to have the in person experience.

What I wish was different

I wish that more people had been in at the office. Chemours workers still work mostly remote, due to the variety of locations people work from. It would have been nice to see the office as it would have been pre-pandemic.

Advice

I would say that you have to be willing to learn and be collaborative to succeed at Chemours. My internship was an incredible experience and I would absolutely recommend Chemours to any student.

Chemical Engineering Intern

June - August 2019 • Deepwater, NJ

What I liked

I never thought I would learn so much in one summer. I learned exactly what it meant to be a technical engineer on a plant site because you perform real engineering work that a chemical engineer on site would do.

What I wish was different

I was one of six interns on the plant site, but the only one in my building. It was pretty lonely to not have another intern around, but the engineers I worked with were very friendly.

Advice

I would suggest having a decent grasp on principles of thermodynamics and fluids because you often apply them to the work and problem-solving you have to do. I suggest re-familiarizing yourself with this material, and if you get stuck, don't be afraid to ask questions!

Chemical Solutions Engineering Intern

May - August 2018 • Newark, DE

What I liked

I fully enjoyed the work that I was given in the Newark office doing process development and validation. Furthermore, the working environment was very relaxed and friendly and everyone in the office was happy to teach me anything I did not know and worked to include me in activities.

What I wish was different

Sometimes, there was not enough of the exciting process work to go around between myself and the other interns. This led to slower days when there was little work to be done. However, this is not the fault of the company, more the nature of the project in the short time I was working there.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions and ask for more work. Be sure to make the most of all the projects that are given to you and work for the highest standard you can produce because they will notice your efforts.
