The Children's Trust

Marketing Intern

May 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

My team was kind and supportive. My supervisor trusted me to take on tasks and try new creative directions in our digital marketing efforts based off of my research and personal market observations.

What I wish was different

The nine to five schedule was a bit grueling (especially after a rough semester), I wish I could have had slightly more flexible hours so that I could have also enjoyed my summer and relaxed a bit more so that I could feel recharged and ready for the upcoming school year. This was mostly my own fault, as I am sure my boss would have completely understood and granted me this, but I wanted to milk this experience as much as possible and gave myself this availability.

Treat your internship like it's your real job. Be proactive and speak up when you have a good idea, don't limit yourself because of your title in the company and you will be able to do gain much more market experience.
