I loved my time with the CDF. I learned a lot of social activism and content creating. This foundation is ran by two people who truly care for the cause and you can see that in the work and time they invest. This internship was both helpful and challenging but still very realistic and honest, in that I never felt pressured with harsh due dates. Paige and Erik are wonderful people and I am so thankful I got to work with them and the CDF.

What I liked
I have loved my experience at The Cloud Dancers Foundation. I was able to have creative control on the projects I worked on. Since I had creative control, I was able to directly see how what I produced impacted insights and statistics. Paige and Erik have continued to support me through the process and stepped in when needed.

Advice
Take advantage of the opportunities provided. Most experiences do not allow you to create what you want on your own timeline. Communication is key with this independence though, and is very helpful if you do run into difficulties.

What I liked
I had a great experience working with The Cloud Dancers Foundation. The Cloud Dancers are a small nonprofit that is just getting started, so being one of their first interns allowed me to learn a lot about how any organization may aim to grow, develop a following, create its image and mission, and more. Everyone on the team was very friendly, and very flexible due to the current unpaid aspect of the internship (supervisors are very understanding of other jobs, commitments, etc). I would recommend this internship to anyone interested in the nonprofit sector, specifically with a focus on LGBTQ+ issues.
