Attendant Care Worker

What I liked

I was able to gain some incredibly valuable experience in the field of psychology, working with youth identified with serious emotional disturbance and/or other mental health disorders. Not only was the experience invaluable, but the position was really fulfilling, allowing me to form relationships and provide a positive impact on these kids’ lives.

What I wish was different

I wish it was a bit simpler/more straightforward to find work as an undergrad in the psych field, but it is understandable considering the nature of the work.

Advice

Use all of your resources to find jobs that best suit you and your needs. I very easily could’ve settled for a summer job that had nothing to do with my future career, but I persistently searches until I found a position within my field.
