The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum

Archivist Intern

What I liked

I liked the way I was able to mix my passion for media in with archives by creating posts for their Instagram and Twitter using pieces from the archives. In addition, it was great to learn more about the politics of Georgia and not only increase my knowledge of Jimmy Carter but also meet him.

What I wish was different

I wish I had the opportunity to visit other archives and museums in Atlanta to compare the differences in structures and displays.

I would advise anyone with doubts about working in the archives because of monogamous work that there is actually a lot of different tasks. You can work giving tours, creating exhibits, storing the artwork (which allows you to see so many cool pieces. I literally got to see an actual lion which was unfortunately killed to be given to the president), sharing the artworks with the public via social media, etc.
