What I liked most was the project I was assigned. The project incorporated some previous programming skills that I acquired in coursework and allowed me to build from them. I truly gained valuable experience in how software is used and how it interacts with the operator. In addition, I liked being surrounded by engineers. This allowed me to hear about different perspectives and the knowledge they possess.
What I wish was different
I wish the office space was in a manufacturing setting. That way I could be near the product and see the physical completion of the work.
Advice
I would advise any future interns to realize you need patience when learning how to complete a task that you are given. Initially, you will most likely be overwhelmed. As time progresses, you will begin to understand how things fit together and the steps that are needed in order to make you more efficient.
