The National Democratic Training Committee

Marketing Intern

January - June 2022 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I loved the community they have curated even through out the pandemic. My manager was extremely reasonable and I feel I learned so much from her.

What I wish was different

I wish it had been in person, and at times I felt I was mainly doing busy work and would liked to have taken on larger roles

Live Training Team Intern

June - August 2021 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I loved getting to work on projects during my internship that were important for the company's needs instead of doing more minor tasks. I also loved that I had the opportunity to lead meetings, which is a great professional skill I was able to develop during my time as an intern.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been able to work more with the political team because as a political science major, that is where my real interests lie.

Advice

In order to be successful as an intern, don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand what is asked of you and own up to any mistakes you make! Your boss or manager won't be upset if you make a mistake as long as you admit it up front and do your best to correct it and learn from it.
