Wonderful, supportive advising/supervision, amazing opportunities to build software and develop research publications, great co-workers.

Honestly, nothing. This has been an ideal experience.

Advice

If you're excited about the work you could do here, apply. Don't wait until you have an ideal resume. Enthusiasm and hard work matter most.

What I liked

I really loved getting involved in the various research projects because I felt it helped me get a more well-rounded view of different types of research projects and different techniques used in various projects. I also got the chance to help make a protocol for a project, so that was great experience.

What I wish was different

During the summer we all worked 40 hours per week and got things done fast there were some times when I had nothing to do. I wish I hadn't gone through the projects so fast as I do in the school year when I only work 20 hours a week so I could have had last gap periods.

Advice

Work hard and actively look for ways you can make a small part of your PIs project into your own project, because its not only beneficial to you but to the PIs as well since they get a view of their project they never thought of before.
