The environment and people were very welcoming, and the work was fulfilling and interesting, too!
What I wish was different
There was some initial confusion over parking; I do wish I could have parked at the Center's parking lot myself, and figuring out how to get reimbursed for it wasn't a smooth process.
Advice
If you're debating whether or not to apply for an internship, absolutely do it. I wasn't super sold on the idea when I put in for mine, but I'm extraordinarily glad I went through with it. I can't think of a better way to have spent my summer.

What I liked
I loved the staff, the Centers mission statement, and the autonomy I was given to do my job. I felt a great deal of independence but also support.
What I wish was different
I wish there were resources to learn how to use some software that internships require you to use: excel, etc.
Advice
When it feels like you really can’t keep going, know that it’s okay to take a break. It’s more sustainable to take breaks than to power through and give up when it exhausts you.
