What I wish was different
More communication between management and staff, less working hours.
Advice
Make sure you have good and adaptable communication skills. Whether it's performing a skit, teaching a kid, talking to an adult or working with staff, you have to be able to do each one of those well.

What I liked
I enjoyed teaching youth about ecology and conservation. The best part was making the curriculum hands-on by going on hikes in the woods.
What I wish was different
More time to create lesson plans would have been great, but this did not inhibit a quality experience.
Advice
Make lessons exciting and interactive so that participants are engaged. It is best to not have them sitting for too long because kids tend to get distracted. Ask the class questions and make it fun! I loved doing science experiments with my classes, this was a hit.

I loved every aspect of this job. It was exciting and gave me great experience in the field I wish to pursue.
What I wish was different
COVID-19 charged some of the procedures and hindered some of the activities we were able provide. I’m excited to see how they’ll develop as COVID-19 becomes more controlled

Always stay positive and open minded. Listen to others and be able to adapt.
