I enjoyed the learning experience of how to best interact with a variety of children, from K-12, in teaching them about reading, writing, and math within a fun & interactive environment.
What I wish was different
The position was a bit stressful as the children depended on the instructors, so I wish that this aspect could have been alleviated a bit earlier during the summer (I was quite drained by the time I went home).
Advice
I would say that the experience has allowed for me to see that I am capable of teaching students, yet I am aware of what the realities of it would look like as a full-time career. I believe that I have a better understanding of why I enjoyed it, and it truly was solely based on the fact that I love helping people.
