The WNET Group

About The WNET Group

Since 1962, The WNET Group has been introducing audiences to amazing new experiences, like how to cook French recipes with Julia Child, and providing a new lens through which to examine crucial issues, as through Black Journal.

That legacy continues today with THIRTEEN, WLIW21 and WLIW-FM, NJ PBS and ALL ARTS. Through our on-air and online assets, we reach millions of people with programming that celebrates arts and culture, offers insightful commentary on the news of the day, explores the worlds of science and nature, and invites students of all ages to have fun while learning.

We produce PBS series such as PBS NewsHour Weekend, Great Performances, NATURE, American Masters, and Amanpour and Company. We’ve responded to the COVID-19 pandemic with educational programs like Let’s Learn NYC! and NJTV Learning Live and Camp TV.

And we’re using new technology to deliver more and better content to the places our viewers watch; renewing our commitment to making a difference for future generations, to help preserve the quality and the inspiration on television and digital media.

As an intern, you will gain valuable experience at a company that has a rich history in public television broadcasting and production on-air, online and via mobile technology, as well as being a leader in the adoption of new media. The WNET Group offers opportunities for currently matriculating undergraduate and graduate students in a diverse range of areas including educational programming and outreach, news and public affairs, culture and arts, documentaries and production for the internet and related distribution platforms. Students must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university (proof of enrollment required in the form of a current Student ID card, college transcript or registration document). The WNET Group is a national leader among public media companies and can provide you with experience to complement and enhance your academic program.
