Tighe & Bond

Environmental Intern

June - August 2022 • Westfield, MA

What I liked

I appreciated the friendly and welcoming nature of all employees - everyone was willing to help with tasks and answer questions. I valued everything I have learned including federal and state regulations, drafting permits, outreach/communication skills, and the field work (site sweeps, wetland delineations, etc.). This opportunity allowed me to see my education being applied to real-world settings.

What I wish was different

Perhaps connecting with other interns and networking with them.

Advice

Do not be afraid to ask questions or for clarifications - there will be a bit of new material you may not have experienced before.

I enjoyed working on a variety of projects, experiencing both design and site work, and collaborating with the engineers and project managers.

What I wish was different

A seminar or more guided approach for learning design specifications would be beneficial.

Advice
