Torrid

Sales Associate

July 2022 • Mobile, AL

What I liked

Everyone is very friendly and helpful, particularly when starting out. The manager is very communicative and easy to talk to. The job itself is fairly easy and you have plenty of opportunities to help out. The overall working environment is also very welcoming and the store itself is very clean and organized, due to the employees.

What I wish was different

So far, nothing.

Advice

Always be open and honest. Be open to learn your first few weeks and you'll probably pick things up quickly. Always ask questions, and never try to figure things out by yourself.

What I liked

I love that I got to work with plus size women and help them feel beautiful in their own skin, Torrid can be a safe place for them.

What I wish was different

I wish the upper management team would stop blaming the lower management team for anything that goes wrong in the store.

Advice

There are more sweet customers than mean ones, take the mean comments with a grain of salt and remember that you’re doing great!

Sales associate

May - July 2019 • Spokane Valley, WA

What I liked

I liked the jump from $8.05 at the Boise location to $12.00 at the Spokane Valley location

What I wish was different

I wish the culture would’ve been different. They weren’t nearly as welcoming/inviting as the Boise location. I wish management wasn’t so cliquey either.

Advice

Know your worth. No matter what the job pays, if you dread or get anxious about going to work, don’t do it.

June - September 2018 • Culver City, CA

What I liked

The staff was all very encouraging and friendly. There was never a moment where I felt like I couldn’t ask for help.

What I wish was different

Customers being there kinda ruined everything but that’s how retail and food service is, which is garbage.

Advice

Don’t take criticisms too seriously. Customers just suck.
