Bodega Marine Laboratory (BML) is an Organized Research Unit (ORU) of the University of California, Davis. Located in Bodega Bay, BML and its surrounding 362-acre Reserve provides research and instructional facilities for resident and campus-based faculty, researchers and students. About 100 scientists maintain active research and teaching programs, more than 50 graduate students conduct research on the site, and there are about 50 employees under a variety of policies and collective bargaining agreements. In addition, the Laboratory hosts many US and international visiting scientists, and hosts conferences and retreats. Primary research emphasis is on oceanographic influences on marine populations; coastal atmospheric chemistry; marine ecology and impacts of non-native species; responses of marine organisms to environmental stress; fish ecology, conservation and restoration; and coastal terrestrial ecology.
