I wish the University would fund undergraduate researchers so we don't have to work for free or hope the PI has the grant money to pay us.
Advice
Apply for any job you like. I had a lower GPA but was still hired because I had a good interview.

What I liked
I got to learn about immunomodulatory therapies for different physical conditions and aid in research.
What I wish was different
The PI in charge of the lab was a MAJOR jerk. I joined his lab because my last lab moved to Stanford, and my supervisor helped me find another internship. I thought it would not be a big deal that he was so awful, but I ended up leaving because it was genuinely a bad work environment.
Advice
Good experience isn't worth a bad work environment.

What I liked
I liked the full clinical immersion aspect of the internship.
What I wish was different
I wish that there was better communication between the interns and clinicians. Some meetings and schedules were either miscommunicated or confusing.
Advice
I would advise students to try to explore different departments in the downtime. This is a good time to network and ask questions.
