I loved how collaborative this research team and experience were. Throughout my time with the team I felt supported and that I was making a difference. Something that I enjoyed about our research was the type of research it was, CQR, or Consensual Qualitative Research. CQR is extremely collaborative and encourages curiosity and creativity. On this team, I was able to embrace my desire for collaboration and my curiosity to help the team out.
What I wish was different
I wish that our team were able to meet in person. We met online for all of our meetings due to the nature of the ever-changing global pandemic, COVID-19. Outside of that, I didn't have a lot that I wished was different.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share about this experience is to not be afraid to ask questions. I was the youngest researcher on this team. I, was an undergraduate student, while the rest of the team were graduate students or professors. Given that, many things were said that were covered in higher-level classes that I had not had the chance to take yet. Being bold, though not difficult in my team, helped me to understand the full scope of our research.

What I liked
I enjoyed getting to know campus and my coworkers better, as well as taking prospective students on tours and helping them find their place at UIndy.
What I wish was different
I don't think that anything should have been different; I loved working in the Office of Admissions over the summer.

What I liked
I loved the people i worked with and the experiences i got from working in the community garden. Working was almost stress relieving! I also liked being able to give back to the community and make a difference.
What I wish was different
I wish i could have been more involved with the networking of the garden just to see how it was and what needed to happen to get the garden up and running.
Advice
if you dont like to be outside a lot, bugs, or just getting dirty a lot in gerneral, this internship would not be for you!
