The School of Medicine and Dentistry (SMD) at University of Rochester comprises the university's research and medical education activities. Our medical school and graduate education offices are both housed within SMD which is located at the University of Rochester Medical Center – one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers located in upstate New York. The University of Rochester Medical Center is a private, coeducational, nonsectarian, and nonprofit research university and is the sixth largest employer in the state.
Graduate education includes 12 PhD programs, 13 masters degree, and 9 Advanced Certificate programs that prepare graduates for a rewarding career in the biomedical and health sciences. We also offer a funded Summer Scholars undergraduate research program and a one year funded post-baccalaureate PREP training program.
