I liked working with scientists at MUSC on a research project that injected breast cancer cells into mice and looked at the metabolic effects.
What I wish was different
The organization wasn’t very good and the professors were not good at communicating.
Advice
Always stay in contact with your employers and have a way to give feedback.

What I liked
My supervising doctor was very nice and accommodating to the varying demands of USC's coursework. It was very interesting to experience applied computer science and computational thinking outside of the CEC.
What I wish was different
USC's HR department can be a bit slow during onboarding. The system is not exactly optimized but not particularly awful.
Advice
Don't limit yourself to research within your academic unit. Multidisciplinary work is very fulfilling and provides a lot of insight for the various use cases your specialization may encounter
