Urban League of Greater Atlanta

About Urban League of Greater Atlanta

The Urban League of Greater Atlanta has been all about economic empowerment since we opened our doors more than 95 years ago, as part of a broader, National Urban League network of 98 historic civil rights organizations throughout the United States—all dedicated to fostering economic empowerment in order to elevate the standard of living in historically underserved urban communities.

Our Mission Is…
To enable and empower African Americans and others to achieve their highest human potential and secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. To accomplish its mission, the League focuses on six key tenets of economic empowerment:

Education and Job Skills Training
Employment, Careers and Entrepreneurship
Housing and Community Development
Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation
Youth Empowerment
Civic Engagement and Leadership

When African-American and other underserved communities are fully empowered in each of these areas, we will see greater opportunities and equal access throughout the entire Metropolitan Atlanta region.
