I saw what it was like to be a full time researcher and did a lot of important work that formed the foundation of my honors project. I also got to live on campus and spend time with my friends who were on campus for Summer Fellows and other programs.
What I wish was different
While the college did a great job of putting together programs that taught me more about general principles of research, I wish there had been more seminars and talks specifically about chemistry research.
Advice
Budget you stipend wisely and be ready to cook for yourself.
