UW Credit Union

Talent Acquisition Intern

January - September 2022 • Madison, WI

What I liked

The people at the Credit Union were great, I was able to get a lot of hands-on experience with recruiting, conducting exit interviews, being exposed to the compensation system, the diversity initiatives that were going on, and the community giving with United Way. I loved their flexibility with work hours, the type of work that I was doing, and being able to learn about different jobs within the financial industry and a credit union. I really loved the focus on the members and employees.

What I wish was different

I wish that I would have gotten to interact more with other interns, I was able to connect with those in the Human Resource department but would have to personally reach out to other interns if that is what I wanted.

Advice

Make sure to always advocate for yourself first and don't take on more than you can handle because it can result in it being too much to handle (from experience).
