Medical lab intern
April 2020 • Milwaukee, WI
What I liked
I enjoyed be able to help people in even the smallest ways during the pandemic. Learning in a hospital lab and being able to interact with patients has been a wonderful and humbling experience.
What I wish was different
The only thing I wish was different is the drive. I travel over an hour to get there, which means that my time there is extremely limited during the school year. I just wish I could be there more.
Advice
Don't be afraid to ask questions. When working in the lab or working with patients, being unsure could cause a lot of major issues down the line. Asking questions is never frowned upon and could literally save a life.

Student Nurse Technician
May 2021 • Milwaukee, WI
What I liked
I liked the opportunity to serve my veterans and to enhance my nursing skills with the very nurses there.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to shadow nurses more, as opposed to taking on a CNA-like role.
Advice
Get as much out of it as you can! The nurses love to teach.
