What I liked
Due to a unique position financially and the support of my network, I was able to forego getting a normal job and drive for Uber. I did this in order to see the greater LA area and expose myself to people who normally don't get to see guys like me. I had good conversations, helped people where I could, and let them know that good people are still looking out for them in this world. It was akin to volunteering or doing community service work. I was able to work on a number of coding and IT related endeavors in my spare time as well as engage in a lot of irresponsible partying. I met many powerful people and challenged their assumptions about the world they live in and provided pro bono services to those who couldn't afford a traditional business / IT consultant.
