VCU School of Pharmacy

Communications Intern

May - August 2019 • Richmond, VA

What I liked

The flexibility of the work load, but it was also diverse. I wrote articles for the blog page, did research, compiled a media list, wrote surveys, and sat in on meeting for the school's website redesign. I got a lot of experience that made me feel more confident in my pursuit of public relations.

What I wish was different

I wish the research process was different. It was very difficult to find people to take the survey and I data I did get did didn't seem adequate enough.

Advice

Honestly, it was a perfect fit for me. I'd just say that even though internships can be tedious and seem useless, it's a good way to find what you want to do when you do get out in the real world and apply for jobs.
