What I liked

Working as an intern for a Village allowed me to work on a variety of projects. I was exposed to road design, sewer design, GIS projects, AutoCAD projects, sewer inspections, and surveying. I interacted firsthand with contractors and the public.

What I wish was different

Nothing! It was a great summer. Since I worked on a team of interns, we were able to pass projects around and collaborate.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions! Managers and supervisors are there to help you. In the context of public works, you can learn a plethora from public works employees, contractors, and technicians.
