What I liked
I loved meeting with policy makers and helping contribute to the ongoing conversation in Virginia regarding eviction reduction.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship had been a bit more writing heavy. I largely worked on a single research process gathering statutory language from all fifty states, which left little room for drafting policy memos.
Advice
Be prepared to say yes to large assignments, but be realistic about your limits. You will impress your boss if you take on a lot of work, but only if you keep them updated on how it’s going and make clear realistic deadlines.
