Test engineer intern

What I liked

The work environment is friendly and people are eager to teach you how things work around the office. I got the opportunity to drive cars and travel all around the country.

What I wish was different

I was blessed to have found housing easily, but it was difficult for many other interns.

Advice

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. People are willing to help and teach you the ropes.

Porsche Functions and Validations Intern

July 2018 • Belmont, CA

What I liked

I like the freedom to do projects as well as the resources provided to help me do personal and internship projects. Working around cars most days during the week is also a huge plus for me because my interest is in the automotive industry. The team I am on are really fun, laid back, and helpful individuals. To be honest I think I was lucky to be on a well balanced team. The bay area itself is a great experience, being from San Diego, the lifestyle is a little different up here, and much different from life in San Luis Obispo where I attend college.

What I wish was different

I would say I'd wish there had been more test drives. An aspect of my job is to test infotainment system and more importantly learn how they work while driving. But team leads become busy and test drives are not often planned.

Advice

Come in to learn and then be ready to do things on your own. Find projects to do and keep yourself busy while being able to manage tasks given by your team. Have fun and get inolved in other teams! There are many aspects to the ERL, not only testing!

Audi Test Engineering intern

July 2018 • Belmont, CA

What I liked

Cool projects, cool cars, cool people, was able to work with different teams on some tasks

What I wish was different

Takes a long time to get the software tools needed for the job, traffic is an issue for people who live in SF/SJ so company buses would have been nice, can be hard to communicate issues to Germany

Advice

Get to know your team and fellow interns!
