The Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) provides free civil legal assistance to low-income residents of Greater Boston. Pro bono services are provided through VLP's panel of approximately 1,000 attorneys and paralegals representing all segments of the legal community- members of small, medium and large firms, solo practitioners, government attorneys, retired attorneys and judges. “I was pretty hands-on calling clients and doing legal intakes and case briefs. I did a lot of employment unit work this summer because of the pandemic and low income individuals not understanding how unemployment works and being essentially scammed by their employers. I enjoyed that we were trusted as interns to do works that paralegals often did, and someone was always giving advice and overseeing my work. ”
