What I liked
I liked learning another aspect of the food industry and the people and methods behind Waffle House.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more time to learn. The lessons were rushed, and I didn't feel I had learned what I should have. I also wish staffing had been different, so I wasn't just thrown out there.
Advice
Know that you are gonna work hard, but it will be so rewarding.

Restaurant Server
June - September 2020 • Paragould, AR
What I liked
The flexibility in hours and the general feeling of the job was really nice. The training was simple and everything was pretty laid back most of the time.
What I wish was different
The management at my particular store is not very good. People get over scheduled and not compensated for their overtime all too often, some pulling doubles 4-5 days a week. Plus the store had structural and pest problems that the store manager wouldn't deal with.
Advice
Stay wary. Do not let them make you get attached to this job, because they will take advantage of you, but if you like cooking or serving, there are tons of advancement options.

What I liked
The store I worked at was one I worked at before I came to Kennesaw for school. Everyone at the store is super nice and e treat each other like family.
What I wish was different
I worked third shift the entire summer (9pm-7am) so when i came back to Kennesaw for school my sleeping schedule suffered.
Advice
To have fun while you work at Waffle House, still be diligent and dutiful in your work, but get to know your coworkers and your customers. On slow days it will help make the day go by better!
