I liked that this was an entirely new experience for me. I came into this internship knowing very little about data collection, road maintenance, and the road commission. I left know quite a lot about the everyday workings of a county road commission. I also like that the organization placed a lot of trust in their interns. If you work hard your supervisors will trust your judgment in many different situations.
What I wish was different
I wish I had had more time at the road commission to get even more training on a multitude of different jobs.
Advice
Listen to the different employees around you and learn from their wisdom. They have experience that they are always willing to share with you!
