I enjoyed the fulfillment I received from helping animals find their forever homes, and helping people find their new best friends. I was able to take part in many events to promote Wayside and specific animals that had been at Wayside for quite some time.
What I wish was different
Honestly nothing. Even though it was an unpaid internship, the experience and friends I made were well worth it, and I'm appreciative of the time I spent there.
Advice
Be prepared to ask what you can do for everyone. There was downtime, but when I asked if I could do something, they found jobs for me to participate more.
