Wilson Electronics

Continuous Improvement Intern

June - August 2019 • St. George, UT

What I liked

I loved the atmosphere and the people. My boss was wonderful because he knew from the beginning I didn’t know very much about the field. He led me through the basics and then let me take the learning into my own hands by giving me work time to do online classes and read books. I learned so much from chatting with my coworkers and they all treated me as one of their own.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have been able to experience more departments and have more supply chain and purchasing experience.

Advice

Throughout my internship I was able to distinguish what I loved from what I never wanted to do again. From that I have decided on a career path, even though it doesn’t have anything to do with the industry I was an intern in. Internships will do so much more for you than a regular job, because you are thrown into a space where you are under qualified, and you’re expected to produce quality work. It just makes you take risks and that makes you better.
