The family-like atmosphere of the camp. It makes you feel welcomed and proves you’re helping with something bigger then yourself.

Advice
Be open about working with children. It is mainly your job to teach them and help them succeed, yet they will teach you a lot more then you realize.

What I liked
I had a blast, made some amazing friends, impacted children in a variety of ways, got leadership experience, and so much more. I could honestly talk about it forever.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to continue going back every year and that this experience meant something to employers because it is hard work and I've grown so much, but it is what it is.
Advice
Be ready to work hard, all the time, be tired and have the summer of your life.

What I liked
-I became better friends with some really great people
-I left knowing that I made an impact on girls’ lives
-I stayed organized and on top of things for the most part
-I grew in my confidence in public speaking and being in front of large groups of people
What I wish was different
-I had friends and people I care about in every Camp, so it was difficult to find time to see everyone without crossing boundaries or having them slip through the cracks
-I struggled a little bit with my relationship with my HC at points, but especially during 2nd Session it was much better
-constantly problem-solving camper and counselor issues during 2nd Session was just exhausting and really frustrating at times
Advice
-make the most of it and have fun: remember that it's just summer camp
