I liked that the days and times were fairly flexible. I was able to work 3 days per week, so that I could have another job on the other days. I also thought the training was very thorough and helpful.
What I wish was different
I wish the camp would have provided more structured activities and had the materials needed for the activities.
Advice
Plan ideas coming into it for what you will do if you have spare time.

What I liked
I loved being able to interact and help people during these rough times. A lot of them were eager to talk to someone who wasn't in their immediate family.
What I wish was different
I felt like I absorbed a lot of responsibility and would have loved to be compensated for that. Although my lovely and supportive staff definitely made up for it.
Advice
I believe that it is important to realize that a customer's frustration does not have to be centered around you, they have their own lives and you never know what is going on. There has been numerous times in which a customer starts off yelling at me then they eventually apologized because it had nothing to do with me.

What I liked
I liked getting to work with kids especially during such a difficult time. I also liked getting to be creative in finding activities to do with the campers.
What I wish was different
I wish I got more training on behavior management and more support. I also really didn't like how we weren't able to collaborate with other counselors this year or have sufficient supplies.
Advice
You need to be really resourceful with activities because there aren't a lot of supplies and be flexible.
