What I liked

I liked getting a closer look at how a small non-profit runs and the details that go into organizing various events through the organization. Getting to be a part of office work, events, and client interactions was so interesting and helpful for me to learn and figure out what kinds of things I might want to do in the future.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more time to build relationships with the clients, as that is a huge part of the organization and the field of social services. However, that has more to do with my schedule than the internship itself. I don't have anything that I wish was done differently otherwise. The staff were so great; they were friendly, informative, and always willing to help me learn.

Advice

Ask questions! I learned so much just from having conversations with the staff at YoungMoms about their experiences, and about how the organization is run.
