I liked the interaction with the low-income children that I worked with. It was enjoyable and gave me great experience for my future career.
What I wish was different
I don't wish that anything would be different. this was my second time working at YMS and I enjoyed it both years.
Advice
One piece of advice is to just enjoy every second even in situations that may not be what you thought they were. Every job will have its downfalls but you can learn from each job and individual you encounter.

Intern
May - August 2018 • Lockport, NY
What I liked
I loved the atmosphere and getting to work with children. The internship really confirmed my future goals and aspirations.
What I wish was different
I wish elements of the internship were different. For example, the children’s camp we had could’ve had new things done to make it run more smoothly and affectively.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share is when working with children, never go into a day set in stone. Everyday brings new challenges and working with children requires you to constantly be ready for change.
