Youthlinc Real Life is currently looking for paid interns and volunteer mentors for Real Life. Youthlinc Real Life is a refugee and immigrant after-school teen mentoring program, undertaken through partnerships between Youthlinc, Promise South Salt Lake, Refugee & Immigrant Center - Asian Association of Utah, Granite School District, and Salt Lake City School District.
The Real Life program has become an impactful resource for many students in the Salt Lake area. Real Life has built and continues to improve upon a curriculum of financial literacy, civic engagement, physical and emotional health, English language practice, career and school counseling, social and cultural activities and art expression. Our flagship local service program strives to provide at-risk teens with fun, educational, and “real life” applicable lessons and activities that will help them become successful in their adult life and contributing members of society.
The program is also beneficial for college students, who serve as paid interns or mentors to the teen refugees. Real Life provides leadership, cultural exchange, and profound service opportunities. The mission of Youthlinc is to create lifetime humanitarians. We accomplish that mission through local and international service for Utah youth– service in which students take active leadership and ownership, work cooperatively to accomplish meaningful projects.
