Great program structure, lots of built-in learning. An incredible opportunity to be surrounded by other youth with disabilities all in DC to achieve change.

What I liked
I liked the networking opportunities I had with prominent figures in the disability community. I liked that I didn't have to worry about where I was going to intern because AAPD placed me at an organization based on my interests. Also, I appreciated that they provided housing at GW.
What I wish was different
The social dynamics with the other interns were challenging sometimes.
Advice
Make the most out of the contacts you make. Follow up with them and cultivate those relationships.
