Americorps is a well established organization with clear and consistent communication. I loved working with the kids at my site!!
What I wish was different
I wish the training had been more focused for my site rather than all the Americorps sites combined, but it was still helpful information.
Advice
I worked as a teachers aid, but I am not interested in teaching. It is okay to seek out internships and jobs you are not particularly interested in because it helps you see what kind of careers are out there.

What I liked
I loved my supervisors and the experiences I had! There was a lot of flexibility at my service site, and I learned a lot of new things. My co-workers and I are now good friends.
What I wish was different
There was a fair amount of paperwork, since AmeriCorps is government funded. There's no way to get around it, so try to make the best of it.
Advice
Go into this position looking for experience more than looking for pay. If you go in passionate about helping people and looking to grow, you'll love it!
