What I liked

Really enjoyed all the people I met and it helped me make enough money that my wife and I don’t have to work during school. It also increase my communication skills and gave me the necessary tools for any job onward. It also helped me become a better person by expanding my views of what I’m capable of doing in the world.

What I wish was different

I wish I would’ve started doing this right when I started school because I could’ve made more money.

The pay was decent, and I got to talk with a lot of people and feel like I was helping them get rid of a big problem in their lives.

What I wish was different

Paid for driving time home with company vehicle (about 1.5 hrs/ day at times), hours not excessive, more opportunity to take a weekend off. Would have been nice is someone explained how to set up California taxes... now I have to correct those to get my correct pay back. Even asking a manager directly, they didn't help me understand what I was doing filling out my out of state taxes.

Know what you're signing up for, talk to someone that has done it before, and stick with it to the end if you want to commit.

I love the trust they give in their employes. This is a really freeing job that if done right, can teach an individual about time management, self-reliance, communication, etc. It is easy to fail at this job but that doesn't mean that it is hard to be successful too.

What I wish was different

I mean... I wish I was more successful but I am grateful for everything I have because of this job.

Advice

In my opinion, if you want to do summer sales great. I encourage it! It has taught me a lot about communication, self conservation, and so so so much more. Ignore the brainwashed bimbos and give this job a try. HOWEVER, do NOT waste your time with small companies. Shoot for the bigger guys, they are so much more organized, reliant, and effective. If you want to sell pest control, go with Aptive or Hawx maybe even Moxie although I've only heard horror stories from them. Just pick what you want to sell (what industry) and then go from there.
