The team was established in 1995 and its inaugural season was in 1998. The D-backs won the World Series in 2001 and have won the National League West Championship five times. In 2011, the D-backs hosted the MLB All-Star Game. Last season, the D-backs won an exciting one-game Wild Card and moved on to compete in the National League Division Series.
