Founded in 1924, Camp Tecumseh YMCA has helped generations of kids and adults grow in trust, faith, respect, joy, friendship, and initiative through innovative camp programs. We are seeking individuals interested in working with youth to fill a variety of positions during our summer months including cabin counselors as well as a variety of support staff roles.

Featuring close to 700 acres, Camp Tecumseh has grown to be one of the larger YMCA camps in the Midwest. In addition to summer, we offer our year-round programming includes outdoor education field trips, meetings and conferences, and retreats. We are also seeking individuals to work with school groups and retreat groups throughout the year. All positions provide room and board and can be structured as an internship.

At Camp Tecumseh, we’re idealists. We believe that a world that looks more like Camp would be a much better world. We strive to improve continuously. We’re not afraid of hard-work, long-hours, or tough conversations. We obsess over safety. We work to build deep relationships and maintain a strong community. We commit to living out our values. If you’re ready to join the crew, check out the opportunities we have available.

Summer Cabin Counselor

May 2018 - August 2019 Brookston, IN
“I loved the way the full time staff set me up for success. I was well trained, supported, and encouraged. I love the experiences I've had while working with Tecumseh campers. Typical job responsibilities include petting goats at the mini farm, canoeing with campers at the lake, dressing up as crazy as you can for opening campfire, singing silly songs at the top of your lungs, sleeping under the most beautiful stars in the world, and consuming way too many s'mores! It doesn't get better than this. I've made lifelong friends and grown as a professional and as a person. ”
